Services

Good garden design is the result of a structured process, and although each project will vary in scope, listed here are the main stages:

Consultation

For the initial meeting, we will meet you on location to go over your requirements, brief, and costings. After the consultation, you will receive a detailed proposal by email providing a summary of the services required for a successful project and a breakdown of the costs.

Survey

The survey is necessary to document all levels and contours, as well as to make note of any existing objects, trees, or buildings that should be preserved. The survey, along with the project brief, is the bedrock of the design process, and all concepts and decisions are borne from the information gathered.

Concept Design

The design can be planned after the survey is completed. This concept stage frequently includes scaled computer-aided, hand-drawn, or a combination of both garden layout plans supplemented with graphics and reference boards displaying the type of plants and hardscape materials to be used.

Detailed Design

Once the concept design has been approved, we then need to draw the plans up in detail to enable the contractor to quote and build from them. This will include a Master Plan, Setting Out Plans, Elevation Drawings, and Construction Drawings as required.

Planting Design

Once the design has been agreed upon, we can plan the planting design. This will be a comprehensive plan showing individual plants, with a detailed species list, quantities, and photos.

Contracting and Project Management

We can create a specification document that, along with the drawings, will make up the bidding package if you need 2-3 contractors to submit a competitive bid to build the garden. Once you've chosen a builder and construction has begun, we can do site visits to make sure the design plan is followed.
